It focused on the production of trucks, buses and military vehicles. Historical partner of the Greek army and state authorities with 50 years of experience. Today, the company produces both military and civilian special purpose vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: &#039;Arial&#039;,sans-serif; color: black; mso-color-alt: windowtext; background: white; mso-no-proof: yes;\">2. ENFIELD AUTOMOTIVE &#8211; A British-Greek company founded in the late 1960s by a wealthy representative of the Greek industrialist family, Giannis Goulandris in Cowes in the south of England. The company operated in the years 1969 &#8211; 1976. It was a small manufacturer of electric microcars. Already in the first year, the company presented its first prototype of a small car, the Enfield 465. Another project of the company was the development of a large luxury combustion car combining the features of an SUV and a limousine. It was developed on the basis of the Jeep. Ultimately, 4 units were made, and the vehicle was not mass-produced. The beginning of the 1970s was characterized by the collapse of the global crude oil market, which led to the outbreak of the fuel crisis in 1973. Enfied Automotive saw opportunities for the development of the electric car market, and thus began work on its second project, which was to be put into series production. As a result, the company&#039;s flagship vehicle was created &#8211; the Enfied 8000. The microcar aroused great interest in Great Britain and the United States. However, the project could not be implemented because the Owner of Enfield Automotive preferred to invest in Europe. The productions were moved to Greece to the island of Syros. MABEA was an important Greek producer of light trucks, passenger cars, motorcycles, motorcycle engines, agricultural machinery and bicycles. Its most successful products were Z\u00fcndapp light three-wheeled trucks with 50cc engines, which became a common sight across the country, and were also exported to African and Asian markets. Mopeds and motorbikes incl. Junior, Apollon and Hermes used mainly Z\u00fcndapp engines, as well as their own Mabea (built under Minarelia license).
